What defines a place? The architecture? Theplanning? The people? How it is used?
The show Urban Structures? deals with differentaspects of urban space and place.
The urban is seen notonly as a physical setting defined mainly by the planning and architecture ofthe city, but as a set of interrelations defined by a variety of social, economic and political factors. To get some kind of understanding of a place, you need to see it in its context of interrelations and it is necessary to seespace as an ever-continuing process as opposed to a static form. The urbanfabric is not something that exists independently of behavior or ofcontemporary and historical context.
