The Kunstraum Schwaz is a dedicated exhibition forum that has been promoting contemporary artists for almost 30 years in a regional, national, and international context.
It sees itself as an open meeting place, a vibrant, networking, diverse organism.
The Kunstraum Schwaz is located on the first floor of the Palais Enzenberg in Schwaz (Tyrol, Austria).
It was built by Veit Jakob Tänzel arround 1515, opposite the parish church.
Its current form dates back to the 18th century. The building suffered significant damage both in 1809 and during the bombing of World War II.

Under the direction of Dr. Vera Vogelsberger the Kunstraum Schwaz, formerly known as the Galerie der Stadt Schwaz was opened in 1994.
The founding was preceded by a long-lasting "gallery dispute" that ended in favor of the opening of a non-commercial gallery.
